Who we are
Your information is being collected by SafeWork NSW, the NSW Work Health and Safety Regulator. SafeWork NSW gives priority to protecting the privacy of your personal information, in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PPIP Act).

Why we collect your personal information
The collection of this information is for lawful purposes directly relating to SafeWork NSW’s law enforcement function as the Work Health and Safety Regulator. SafeWork NSW is collecting personal information for the purposes of allowing a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) to fulfil their requirements under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act), Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017 and to assist SafeWork inspectorate with its work.
The kinds of personal information we collect
We may collect the following information:
- The first name, last name, and email address for the individual registering for the portal.
- PCBU head office address and work phone number.
- Second account holder details, including name, work contact number and work contact email.
- Personal information that may be collected in your feedback for the form.
Failure to provide information
You are lawfully required to provide SafeWork NSW with this information. Failure to do so may mean you are in breach of your obligations under the WHS Act and Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017.
How we may use this information
We may use the information we collect in the following ways:
- To register you for the portal, provide you access to the portal and allow you to provide SafeWork NSW with various notifications that you are lawfully required to provide.
- Internal administrative purposes, including to establish and maintain a database to assist the SafeWork NSW inspectorate with their work, and in relation to compliance, investigations, and enforcement of the WHS Act and the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017.
- To support more informed policy making, program management, evaluation, research, and service planning as it can facilitate more efficient service delivery for the public of NSW.
- Other directly related purposes.
Who we may share your information with
Where SafeWork NSW is permitted, authorised, or required to use or disclose information in accordance with legal requirements or a law of the State or Commonwealth, measures will be taken to minimise the unnecessary disclosure of personal information.
We will not disclose your information to anybody else unless we are authorised or permitted to do so by law or where you have given consent. Our Privacy Statement describes when this may occur.
Protecting your information
We will store and manage your information in accordance with the provisions of the PPIP Act. We have measures in place to help protect your personal information from loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure, or other misuse.
We will only keep information for as long as we need it to fulfil the purposes, we collected it for. After which, the information will be disposed of securely in accordance with the State Records Act 1998 and any other applicable legislation.
