It's the safe way or 'no way'
Workplace safety is a high priority for SafeWork NSW. Whether you're an employer, site manager or worker, access our tools and resources to help reduce workplace injuries and fatalaties.
The It's the safe way or 'no way' campaign aims to raise awareness of safety practices across high risk industries and culturally and lingustically diverse audiences.
National Asbestos Awareness Week
National Asbestos Awareness Week is a national campaign held in late November each year which seeks to increase community understanding of asbestos.
Falls in transport
From October - December, 2023 SafeWork NSW will be visiting transport businesses around NSW to raise awareness and identify fall risks.

Family and Injured Workers Support Group
The Family and Injured Workers Support Group helps injured workers and the families of injured workers or workers who have died in a workplace incident. Find out more about the family and injured workers support and advisory group.
International Day of Mourning
On 29 April employers and workers take time to reflect how workplace incidents affect those around them on the International Day of Mourning.
NSW Dust strategy
The NSW Dust Strategy 2020-2022 aims to prevent occupational diseases by providing NSW workers and businesses with a coordinated approach for the safe handling of hazardous dust including asbestos, silica, wood and other dusts.
Quad bike safety
In 2013, the NSW Government announced a $1.3 million research and testing project into quad bike safety and has conducted a number of comprehensive social media campaigns that focus on quad bike rebates, side-by-side-vehicles and child safety on farms. The "Getting home is what matters most" (November 2022) campaign is the most recent.

Safety around your vehicle
Following a number of incidents and fatalities involving work in and around vehicles in late 2020 and April 2021, SafeWork NSW launched a Safety Around Your Vehicle Campaign to target unsafe work practices around vehicles.

Safe Work Month
During October each year, SafeWork NSW asks businesses, employers, and workers to join us in raising work, health and safety awareness for National Safe Work Month.
The theme of the 2022 Safe Work Month was "know safety, work safely" and organisations were encouraged to hold a "SafeTea" event to promote the importance of staff consultation.

Scaff Safe
In 2022, SafeWork NSW will work with industry to ensure construction workers are safe when working on scaffolding. Inspectors will also be working with suppliers and installers to ensure scaffolds are built to standard and safe.

Side-by-side vehicles
Side-by-side vehicles are versatile farming vehicles that are safer alternatives to quad bikes.
Since 2007, SafeWork NSW has recorded 9 fatalities and 10 serious injuries involving side-by-side vehicles. In 79 per cent of fatalities the vehicle rolled over while in 90 per cent of cases, the driver or passenger didn't wear a seat belt.
The side by side vehicle safety campaign raised awareness of the safety rebates and training available to eligible farmers.
Solar panel (PV) installation
There are significant falls from heights and electrical risks to workers when installing these systems. SafeWork NSW is running a campaign to make sure workers (and homeowners) are safe when solar panels are being installed.
